Yacht Trace: Pioneering Bespoke Software and Hardware Solutions with In-House Tender and Battery Monitoring Systems for the Superyacht Industry

Who We Are and Mission Statement:
Yacht Trace is an innovative superyacht technology company founded by Deborah Fry and Dr. Dan Rogers, dedicated to advancing the superyacht industry through custom monitoring and control systems. Combining years of diverse industrial experience (see website), we deliver cutting-edge solutions for superyachts, tenders, and chase boats. We are developing our own hardware and software systems that promote sustainability, mitigate risk, and simplify onboard operations.

What Sets Us Apart:
With previous experience in the superyacht industry within monitoring systems, working on a variety of tenders and vessels with engineers and manufacturers, we founded Yacht Trace to offer completely new, distinctive solutions. Using our own in-house components and proprietary technology, we deliver monitoring systems that stand us apart in the market. Our approach integrates knowledge from other high-stakes industries, allowing us to create advanced tailored solutions that prioritise efficiency, safety, ease of use and affordability.

Our Unique Offerings:
Yacht Trace specialises in affordable, customisable monitoring systems for superyachts and support vessels.

We are currently launching two key product lines: a tender and chase boat monitoring system and battery monitoring system.

Our tender and chase boat monitoring system is particularly effective for towing operations (advanced towing system), providing real-time safety data, performance insights, and tracking capabilities. With a unique two-way communication, captains and crew can easily monitor and adjust towing parameters, enhancing safety and control. The system is quick and easy to install, designed with the needs of busy crews in mind. In line with insurance requirements through consultation.

Our battery monitoring system will maximise efficiency and reliability, offering real-time insights into battery health and performance. This supports sustainability by enabling informed energy management, essential as new battery regulations emerge.

Built with in-house components and proprietary technology, our new-generation systems are uniquely different and affordable.

Our Clients and Their Needs:
We work closely with superyacht owners, captains, ETOs, engineers, yacht manufacturers, and insurers, developing solutions based on their specific requirements. Yacht Trace’s products are designed to meet insurance standards that also support more favourable insurance terms, such as towing at night (to maximise charters) and over 90 nautical miles.

Milestones and Achievements:
Drawing on our experience in other high-stakes sectors (MW scale Lithium-Ion systems for energy storage, tracking and monitoring of tenders, Unmanned Ground Vehicles, Automotive ECU integration, Smart Appliances and Intelligent Traffic Management Systems), we now bring this expertise to the superyacht industry. We will be researching and developing future projects.  We are speaking at the Superyacht Technology Show in Barcelona next spring. Our talk, “Sustainable Energy Innovations for the Superyacht Industry: Storage, Recovery, and Emission Reductions,” will showcase our advancements in sustainable energy and monitoring technology for superyachts.

Testimonials:
Our commitment to service and technical expertise has earned the trust of captains, chief engineers, and insurers. Clients value our hands-on approach, responsiveness, and the reliability of our solutions. Our support extends from installation through ongoing maintenance, empowering clients to navigate with confidence. You can view some of these on our website or LinkedIn.

Looking Forward:
As superyachts explore new territories and remote locations in unpredictable weather, they face new complex regulations. Yacht Trace’s monitoring system for tenders and chase boats adapts to these demands, supporting regulatory alignment and operational efficiency with technologies that are already key in other high stake industries.

Product Launch and Availability:
We are excited to announce that our tender monitoring system will be available in the first quarter of next year, with the advanced battery monitoring system following soon after. These customisable solutions will soon be listed on select stock lists, providing affordable, high-quality options. We are accepting future orders, and testing on key superyachts is scheduled in the coming months.

We are also available for bespoke work and are in discussion with marine conservation charities. While committed to affordable systems, we aim to dedicate time from each sale to support bespoke work for these charities. More information coming soon.
