Who are we?

We collaborate closely with yacht owners, captains, ETOs, Engineers and tender/yacht manufacturers to provide tailored solutions that meet their specific needs.

We particularly help yachts meet insurance terms and help to simplifying their procedures.

Dr. Dan will be sharing his insights and expertise through key talks at industry events throughout the year.

Dr. Dan Rogers started as an Electrician in 1997. He graduated from Loughborough University (BEng Hons) in 2003 and after a variety of posts, completed his PhD in 2014.

Dr Dan has evolved with experience of MW scale Lithium-Ion systems for energy storage, tracking and monitoring of tenders, Unmanned Ground Vehicles, Automotive ECU integration, Smart Appliances and Intelligent Traffic Management Systems – all from a variety of industries. Dr Dan also was instrumental in founding a centre for research into electrical energy for storage & applications, which involved novel control of a range of energy storage systems. He is currently researching and testing exciting new concepts.

Recently Dr Dan has specialised in advanced embedded control/communications and battery management systems. After working with a number of Superyachts delivering monitoring solutions for tenders and chase boats, Dan together with Deborah Fry has founded Yacht Trace, a company specialising in bespoke hardware and software solutions within the Superyacht Industry.

Deborah’s journey began in London during the 1990s e-commerce boom, where she designed and developed websites for asset managers, playing a key role in the digital transformation of financial services. This later transitioned into a role as a Software Analyst, specialising in CRM systems.

After completing a postgraduate degree in 2007, Deborah spent 16 years in education where she managed Art departments, whilst also integrating a broad range of technologies, software packages, and equipment across all art disciplines. She placed a strong focus on experimenting and testing the limitations of materials and processes, including resins and other media, fostering creativity through hands-on experimentation. Deborah continues to serve as an associate of an exam board, setting the standards for A-Level Art each year.

Just over a year ago, Deborah began collaborating with Dr. Dan in a disruptive technology company.  Drawing on this experience and using her unique blend of technology testing, data analysis, and a creative mindset, she now co-runs Yacht Trace, a company focused on advanced technology solutions for the superyacht industry, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and simplifying procedures.

We work well together and our skills complement each other.

Yacht Trace and Liiontek have joined forces to support the rapid shift toward electric and hybrid tenders by combining advanced tender-monitoring technology with industry-leading lithium-ion safety systems. This collaboration brings together Yacht Trace’s two-way RF monitoring, long-range towing protection, and onboard health data with Liiontek’s early-warning lithium-ion fire-detection and suppression expertise. The result is a smarter, safer, and more technically capable solution for tenders running high-capacity battery systems.

As electric and hybrid propulsion becomes more common on superyachts, so does the need for precise, reliable oversight of charging, battery behaviour, and safety-critical conditions. The joint approach allows captains and engineers to track key operational data — battery states, off-gassing alerts, bilge activity, and more — while benefiting from Liiontek’s proven lithium-ion mitigation tools used across the marine industry. Integrated together, these systems help address the growing safety and insurance considerations surrounding lithium-powered tenders, especially during charging, towing and use.

This partnership also makes futureproof tender setups easier to implement. Yacht Trace’s plug-and-play installation and non-invasive hardware design allow electric and hybrid tenders to be upgraded quickly, while Liiontek’s detection and suppression systems add an extra technical layer of protection without disrupting a yacht’s existing infrastructure. For owners and captains adopting greener propulsion, the collaboration delivers a powerful blend of monitoring, control, and lithium battery safety engineered for modern superyacht operations.
